Job Description:
Based in Pudong, Shanghai, the Senior Legal Counsel is a member of the GDS Legal Team and has the following main responsibilities:
-To provide legal advice on various matters involved in the daily operations of the business
-To conduct and lead legal due diligence (especially in the areas of real estate and value-added telecom) in financing, M&A and other investment projects
-To draft, review and negotiate legal agreements (such as services agreements, real estate leasing agreements, procurement agreements, financing agreements, share purchase agreements, joint venture contracts, Letters of Intent and NDAs) in both English and Chinese
-To participate and lead in meetings with internal and external parties
-To provide advice on FCPA and other compliance matters
-To liaise with and manage external law firms

Requirements:
-An LLB degree or above from a reputable university, an LLM degree from a common law jurisdiction highly preferred
-Qualified to practice law in China and qualification in a common law jurisdiction a strong plus
-At least 5 years of experience in a multinational corporation and/or a leading international/domestic law firm; exceptional candidates without in-house experience may be considered
-Experience in real estate and/or value-added telecom business a strong plus
-Native Chinese speaker with fluent spoken and written English and excellent command of MS Office software application (e.g., Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
-Excellent Chinese and English drafting skills and strong negotiation skills
-Mature, pragmatic, self-motivated, able to multiple-task and work independently and under pressure
-Hardworking, proactive and detail- and solution-oriented with a “can do” attitude
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, high integrity, business acumen and a team player
